Illini West defeats Western (Barry) in 2 sets: 25- 23, 25-5

Gracie McDowell lead in kills (7). Kendra Johnson lead in assists with 9, while Karli Artman also had 7 assists. Taylor Pence finished with 9 digs and Hannah Wood had 8 digs.

The Chargers lead both sets from start to finish.

Illini West falls to Orion in 2 sets: 15-25, 22-25

Megan Harrell had a huge offensive game with 12 kills. Kendra Johnson lead in assists with 11, also adding 9 digs. Gracie McDowell lead in digs with 14.

Orion's tall front row gave us a tough game with blocking as Orion was able to reach over our block with every hit.

Illini West defeats Galva in 2 sets: 25- 13, 25- 7

Gracie McDowell and Megan Harrell each had 6 kills. Hannah Wood had 4 kills. Kendra Johnson stepped up big and finished with 16 assists. Gracie McDowell also lead in digs with 16, while Hannah Wood added 11.

After finishing second in pool play, the Chargers competed in the 3rd place game vs. AFC (Ashton Franklin Center).

Illini West defeats AFC in 3 sets to win 3rd place at the tournament: 22-25, 25-21, 15-12

Gracie McDowell and Megan Harrell each had 8 kills apiece. Kendra Johnson had 11 assists and 8 digs. Karli Artman had 9 assists. Hannah Wood lead in digs with 15, while Gracie McDowell added 12.

The Chargers were leading in the first set 19-10 before letting AFC go on a 11-0 run. After a timeout by IW, we battled back but could not finish the game. Set 2 and 3 the Chargers lead from start to finish. Scrappy defense by IW to pick up short tips held the girls in the game to beat a tall AFC team.

3rd place finish.

Gracie McDowell was selected to the All-Tournament team (top 6).
